YTL Construction undertakes the design and construction of buildings and structures. Its operations cover four key areas — Building Works, Civil & Infrastructure Works, Design as well as Operations & Maintenance.


Over the course of its 60-year history, YTL Construction has built a strong reputation for consistently delivering high quality construction, on time and to the satisfaction of clients.

In the 1950's and 60's, YTL Construction built schools, hospitals and army barracks, before moving on in the 70's and 80's to pioneering some of Malaysia's first high-rise buildings. In the 90's, the company created the nucleus hospital concept, building a series of hospitals around the country to meet the needs of the growing Malaysian population.

Since then, YTL Construction has built iconic landmarks like the Ritz Carlton Kuala Lumpur, undertaken the restoration and expansion of the historic Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur, as well as built the distinctive Capers and Fennel condominium developments, which have enhanced the KL city skyline.

YTL Construction's focus on design excellence and reputation for quality have resulted in the company winning many awards for technological innovation in the building industry. In Malaysia, YTL Construction is officially recognised as a "Class A" turnkey contractor.


Through its civil and infrastructure works division, YTL Construction has taken part in complex and difficult large-scale Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) infrastructure projects.

YTL Construction's civil and infrastructure services include the the design, analysis and management of infrastructure for power services, transportation, and a wide variety of buildings that make up urban and rural communities.

The company's civil engineering expertise includes the building of a gas-fired combined cycle power plant in a record 22 months — a world record at the time; as well as the building of a 1.2 tonne per annum capacity state-of-the-art cement plant. In addition, YTL Construction undertook the civil engineering construction of the RM2.4 billion Express Rail Link Project in Malaysia, connecting Kuala Lumpur city to the KL International Airport.

It has also undertaken various silo works, and is currently delivering a nationwide 4G Telecommunications Network in Malaysia.


YTL Construction's award-winning design team has built an international reputation for fine, functional design that meets global design standards.

Its world-renowned Pangkor Laut Resort in Malaysia is the recipient of the FIABCI (Federation Internationale des Bien-Conselis Immobiliers) Malaysia's Best Resort Development Award of Distinction, while its urban regeneration and restoration work at the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPac) has earned it the FIABCI Special Award for National Contribution. Many of its other developments have been recognised locally and internationally.

YTL Construction's Design team has worked with some of the world's best design, architecture, landscape and interior design consultants, on completed and active projects in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Japan, France and the United Kingdom.

Its team consists of over 100 experienced professionals specialising in Architecture, Civil & Structural services, Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) as well as Project Management, who undertake the design, planning and delivery of its many projects.


YTL Construction, working in partnership with the YTL Group of Companies, has developed a broad base of intellectual capital as well as technical and operational expertise in project development, project management, operations and maintenance works.

Projects under the operations and maintenance of the YTL Construction includes the operation and maintenance of the track works and civil works of the Express Rail Link (ERL) train service connecting the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to the KL city centre, providing support services to YTL Communications in operating its nationwide 4G Telecommunications Network throughout Malaysia as well as supporting the YTL Group’s land and property divisions in the management of their many properties in Malaysia and around the region.
